Signups for winter programs — Passport to Health, Lazy Man Triathlon and the Traditional Miler’s Club — are under way at the YMCA in Guymon.
The popular Passport to Health starts Dec. 1 and now is the time to get your friends, co-workers, or family ready for this 10-week challenge. Once again, the folks at the Y have changed things a bit to keep the program fresh and in response to participants. Teams can be up to 4 people, only one must be a member. There will be different challenges every week. The cost is $20 per team.
The Lazy Man Triathlon also starts Dec. 1. It consists of 2.4 mile swim, 112 miles on the stationary bike, and 26.2 mile walk/run and you have until Jan. 10, 2009, to complete your miles so you can work at your own pace. The cost for the program is Family Plus:$15; members:$20 , and non-members:$30.
Also, this winter is the Traditional Miler’s Club, which begins Jan. 1 and runs until Dec. 31, 2009. You can sign up for one or all three events: bike-750 miles; swim-52 miles, and run/Walk-525 miles. The cost for this program is: 1 event: $10; 2 events:$15, and all 3 events:$20.
If you have questions or concerns about any of the above or anything else, call the Y at 580-468-YMCA.
