Today’s forecast calls for a few light rain showers through the early morning. Boise City is just one of the communities that may see some rain. Rain and snow showers will tend to increase across the western Oklahoma and Texas panhandles through the morning hours as an upper level storm system approaches.

Today’s forecast calls for a Wind Advisory to be in effect until 8 a.m. for the western and central Oklahoma Panhandle and the northwest Texas Panhandle.
A northwest wind of 25 to 35 miles an hour with gusts to 50 miles an hour will be common across the western and central Oklahoma Panhandle and the northwest Texas Panhandle this morning. Winds will be just a little lighter across the rest of the panhandles. An isolated light rain shower will also be possible mainly across the Oklahoma Panhandle and the northern Texas Panhandle.
Highs in the upper 50s with lows in the upper 20s.

Today’s forecast calls for showers with embedded thunderstorms. Two waves of main activity are prevalent on radar.
The first wave extends from near Wheeler to Canadian to Beaver and and is spreading showers and thunderstorms into the northeast sections of the panhandles.
A second wave extends from near Happy to Panhandle to Spearman to Guymon and will produce another round of showers and thunderstorms across the central to eastern sections of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles.
Occasional lightning, gusty winds and pea sized hail may occur with the thunderstorms. Rainfall rates of up to one quarter of an inch per hour can be expected with these storms.
Visibilities of one half of a mile or less will be possible in some localized areas.

Fog will reduce visibilities to less than three miles with some areas falling below one mile in the light rain and drizzle. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive cautiously when fog is encountered. Highs will be in the lower 50s with lows in the mid 40s.

Visibility restrictions of one to three miles can be expected through the morning hours. However a few locations may see occasional visibilities of a half mile or less at times.
