In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota; not enough sales to
establish a trend. Steers: Live basis; (all Grades: 45 head) 81.00. Dressed
Basis; (all Grades: 0 head). Heifers: Live Basis; (all Grades: 181 head) 81.00-
82.50, weighted average 82.13. Dressed Basis; (all Grades: 0 head).

HOGS

Direct Trade: Carcass Basis: based on 185 lbs hog carcass with 0.9-1.1 inch back
fat and 6 inch square loin/2.0 inch depth plant delivered. National direct
trade barrows and gilts were .35 higher with prices ranging from 47.00-59.50,
weighted average price 56.39. Iowa-Minnesota was .89 higher at 47.00-59.50,
weighted average price 57.95. Western Cornbelt sold .58 higher at 47.00-59.50,
weighted average price 57.92 and Eastern Cornbelt was .12 lower at 50.00-58.00,
weighted average price 54.14.

Live Basis (240-280 lbs): National direct barrows and gilts were 1.20 higher
at 34.04-47.00, weighted average price 43.95. Iowa-Minnesota was 1.41 higher at
34.04-46.50, weighted average 43.48. Western Cornbelt was 2.01 higher at 34.04-
47.00, weighted average price 44.59. Eastern Cornbelt was .17 higher at 35.44-
45.08, weighted average price 43.10.
