Joaquin Chicaj Perez, 19, of Guymon died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

The son of Diego and Maria (Perez) Chicaj, he was born Aug. 30, 1989, in Canilla, Quiche, Guatemala.

He was employed with National Beef in Liberal, Kansas, where he worked in the processing department.

He is survived by his parents, three brothers and three sisters, all of Guatemala and one brother of Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Sunday evening, April 19, at 6 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon with Father Bill H. Pruett officiating. Interment will be in Canilla, Quiche, Guatemala.
