Outdoor Oklahoma offers Controlled Hunts tips, free issue to new subscribers
Oklahoma sportsmen may be able to increase their hunting opportunity in 2009-10 through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation’s Controlled Hunts program, and the current issue of Outdoor Oklahoma magazine tells how. Not only that, but new subscriptions ordered now through the end of February will include the January/February issue free.
Sportsman recognized for 20 years of volunteer service
An Oklahoma City man recently was recognized by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation for his work over the last 20 years — work that has impacted the lives of thousands of people.

Oklahoma firm recalls frozen chili beef products
Windsor Quality Food Co., Ltd., doing business as Windsor Foods, a Tulsa, Okla., establishment, is recalling approximately 676,560 pounds of frozen chili beef products that may contain foreign materials from an ingredient source, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Friday.

Goodwell, Okla. — In a very physical Heartland Conference men’s basketball game on Thursday, the visiting St. Edward’s Hilltoppers topped the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies 77-63.

Goodwell, Okla. — The Hilltoppers from St. Edward’s University were in the OPSU gym on Thursday to face the Oklahoma Panhandle State Lady Aggies. Both are Heartland Conference rivals and thanks in large measure to 22 free throws in 24 attempts (including 21 straight), the Hilltoppers won 66-51.
House Ag Committee gets organized
House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson opened business for the committee’s new year this week by welcoming new members, as well as his new ranking member Frank Lucas of Oklahoma — and by calling on all members to get straight to work on a busy schedule.

$465M expected for Oklahoma projects from stimulus plan
