The dozen participants in the advanced SWAT training ongoing in Guymon this week hit the streets Tuesday.

According to Guymon Police Chief Eddie Adamson, Tuesday “was a day of walking and getting used to moving around. They left the PD and went down Sunset and crawled under a bus among other things, then down to around 12th street, then down to Main and ended up at the Guymon Community Development building. After they got done with that training, they got to walk back to the Police Department and then down to the firing range  –
where they got to enjoy a fun little game of Run the Burm … which let them run up and down hillls … over and over and over again…”

Guymon police officers in the class are Captain Michael Babb, Lt. Jason Bond, Lt. Michael Arndt, Sgt. Dale Hampsten, Patrol Michael Adams and Patrol Clay Hegwood.

Guymon Fire Department assistant chief Grant Wadley and Lt. John Shaffer are attending as the medics for the team. Other participants are from the Texas County Sheriff’s Office and  Osage County Kansas Sheriff’s Department.
