Goodwell, Okla. — Each week during the school year, Oklahoma Panhandle State University recognizes Student Athletes of the Week -– an honor based upon citizenship, leadership, academic accomplishment and athletic performance. This week’s honorees are a pair of very hard workers -– Miles Hirsch of the Aggie rodeo team and volleyball player Meredith Powell.

Powell is a sophomore from Alvin, Texas who was recently named All Heartland Conference for her performance this season. Powell has a strong work ethic both on and off the court and she is majoring in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER).

Hirsch is a bull rider for the OPSU rodeo team - year in and year out a national powerhouse in college rodeo. A hard worker in both rodeo competition and in the classroom, Hirsch is a senior majoring in Ag Business. He comes from Highmore, South Dakota.
