Goodwell, Okla. — During the academic year, Oklahoma Panhandle State University honors their Student Athletes of the Week. Those named are chosen based upon a combination of leadership, citizenship, athletic accomplishment and academic success. Earning honors this week are Whitney Harding of the Lady Aggie rodeo team and Vincent “Vinny” Gay, the starting quarterback on the OPSU football team.

Harding — a Canadian from Pilot Mound, Manitoba -– competes for the Lady Aggies in barrel racing, breakaway roping, goat tying, and team roping. She is a junior and a good student, pursuing a degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER).

Gay is a junior from Overland Park, Kansas. On the football field he is a both a strong runner and passer, and this season many Aggie fans have commented on his leadership and toughness from the quarterback position. He is working toward a degree in Business.
