Raymond C. Lewis

Raymond C. Lewis, 81, lifelong area farmer and rancher, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.
The son of Chester C. and Elenora (Kleffman) Lewis, Raymond was born May 9, 1927 at Mouser, Oklahoma and later moved to the family farm near Hough.
Raymond was united in marriage to Eula Faye Schoonover on May 22, 1959, along with two children, Terry and Cheri Schoonover. In 1961 they were blessed with another son, Todd. The Lewis family made their home in Guymon.
Raymond enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He also received a special joy in raising gardens and sharing it with neighbors and friends. Raymond attended the Sunset Lane Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Raymond was an honest, hard working man and loved his family dearly. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves his wife, Eula Faye Lewis of the home; daughter, Cheri Harrington and husband, Richard of Chandler, Oklahoma; son, Terry Schoonover and wife, Barbara of Kerrick, Texas; and son, Todd Lewis of Keyes, Oklahoma. He is also survived by grandchildren: Brady Schoonover and wife, Trish of Kerrick, Texas, Brandi Brookes of Amarillo, Texas, Brenna Dawn Payne and husband, Kevin of Amarillo, Texas and Kelly Schoonover of Folsom, New Mexico; eight great grandchildren and one sister, Hazel Watkins of Mesa, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brent Schoonover.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, September 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at the Sunset Lane Baptist Church in Guymon with Rev. Lloyd Riddles officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
The Lewis family suggest that memorials be made to Loaves and Fishes or the Sunset Lane Baptist Church. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942. Friends can sign the online guest register at www.bunchroberts.com.
