OPSU: volleyball at home, football on the road

Goodwell, Okla. — There will be plenty of action this weekend for Oklahoma Panhandle State sports teams.

On Friday and Saturday in Goodwell, OPSU will be hosting the No Man’s Land Classic, a six team volleyball tournament in Oscar Williams Fieldhouse. A total of 12 games will be played over the two days. The field includes: OPSU, Angelo State University (ASU), Colorado Christian University (CCU), New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU), Sterling College (Sterling, Kansas), and Southwest Oklahoma State University (SWOSU). Following is the schedule:

Friday (9/5/08) — OPSU vs. NMHU (10 am) - SWOSU vs. Sterling (12 pm), ASU vs. CCU (2 pm) - NMHU vs. SWOSU (4 pm) - Sterling vs. ASU (6 pm) - OPSU vs. CCU (8 pm).

Saturday (9/6/08) — NMHU vs. Sterling (9 am) - OPSU vs. ASU (11 am) - CCU vs. SWOSU (1 pm) - ASU vs. NMHU (3 pm) - CCU vs. Sterling (5 pm) - OPSU vs. SWOSU (7 pm).

Admission charges for adults are $8 for a two day pass (12 matches) and $5 for a one day pass (6 matches). Non-OPSU student prices are $3 for a two day pass and $2 for a one day pass.

On Saturday, the Aggie football team will be in Colorado for a clash with Colorado State-Pueblo. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. (Mountain Time).
