Miss Teen Oklahoma marches on

Posted on September 30, 2008, 6:44am by Guymon Community Representative, Debbie Browning

Just got this update from Guymon’s very own Kim Tuttle, whom we now share with the rest of the state in her capacity as Miss Teen of Oklahoma.

There’s now a 1-in-8 chance we will be sharing her with the nation!

Ms. Tuttle reports: “I am very excited to inform you that I am a National Merit Finalist [Top 8] for Miss Teen of America!

After submitting my packet with a 7-minute DVD, 3 resumes (Personal Development, Scholastic Record, and Service to School and Community), 2 letters of recommendation, headshots and a 300-word original essay of what I would bring to the title, I will now have a phone interview on Oct. 11.  The new Miss Teen of America will be announced after that date and no later than Oct. 25.”

Whew! I get tired after just reading the list everything she’s had to submit. This headshot is by Chris Urias. In fact, Chris donated all of her photos for the competition. What a great gesture!
