Want to know what’s going on in Guymon?

I sure do! That’s why I’ve signed up for the Guymon Community Notification System to receive notices about weather emergencies, events, water issues, fire department information and more. You should, too!

This is the system the city uses to inform the public about information and issues here in Guymon, explained Guymon Police Chief Eddie Adamson. ”One of the great benefits of this system is our ability to notify everyone who signs up immediately when an emergency comes up here in the area. This includes serious weather problems, water issues, electricity issues, and any other emergency that the public needs to know about.”

The system can send text messages to cellphones and email to computers immediately when information about something needs to be broadcast to citizens. “In addition to emergency situations, we can also send notices out about community events in the city that the public would like to know about,” he added.

Ready to sign up? You’ve got three choices:

First: Go to www.guymonok.org or police.guymonok.org  and click the link to the notification system and sign up;

Second: Fill out the notification form posted here (guymon_community_notification_system_sign_up1)
and fax it to 580-338-8904 and you’ll be entered into the system; or

Third: Call the police department at 580-338-6525. Someone will take your information and sign you up.

You’ll be on your way to being a better informed — and safer — Guymon citizen.
